Heat is what kills an automatic transmission, and the factory cooler is usually the weak link. A bar and plate cooler from PPE replaces the restrictive OE unit with a far larger frontal area and a much thicker core, pulling fluid temperatures down by dozens of degrees when you are towing heavy or running hard. Cooler fluid means clutches that hold and a transmission that lasts.
