The BD Diesel 2-Low Unloc is a mechanism designed to enhance vehicle maneuverability and maximize torque delivery when operating in low-range mode. By allowing the operator to manually disable the front wheel drive mechanism, the system keeps the hubs in a disengaged (2WD) mode even with the transfer case set to 4WD low range. This ensures that maximum torque is available exclusively to the rear wheels. This capability allows for sharp turns without the front axle u-joint hopping or binding, delivering normal 2WD maneuverability while in a high gear reduction.
