Description

Heat is what shortens transmission life. As fluid temperature climbs, viscosity drops and the lubricating film that protects the gears and bearings gets thinner. PPE's pan for the Toyota AWR10L65 10-speed is cast from A356.0-T6 aluminum and adds 3.5 quarts of fluid capacity for more thermal headroom.

Tall external cooling fins pull heat out of the fluid and stiffen the bottom of the pan against impacts. Internal baffles increase fluid contact with the aluminum and cut sloshing for consistent pickup, and together with the fins they form a cross-braced structure. A fluid level check standpipe is included, and both the drain and check plugs carry a high-temperature neodymium magnet to catch ferrous wear particles.
